NERC Releases Details on Fall Conference

The Northeast Recycling Council (NERC), Brattleboro, Vt., will host its annual fall conference Oct. 27-28 at the Hotel Northampton in Northampton, Mass.

Industry and public leaders will share their perspectives on recycling’s role in energy conservation as well as the latest trends in electronics recycling. Speakers include:

·         Eric Harris, associate counsel and director of government and international affairs, Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, Inc. (ISRI), Washington, D.C;

·         Bill Heenan, president, Steel Recycling Institute, Pittsburgh;

·         Jason Linnell, executive director, National Center for Electronics Recycling, Parkersburg, W.Va.;

·         Duncan Watson, assistant public works director/solid waste manager and recycling coordinator,  City of Keene, New Hampshire;

·         Norm Ruttan, president, iWasteNot Systems, Mallorytown, Ontario;

·         Gina Chiarella, executive vice president, WeRecycle!, Meridan, Conn.; and

·         Robin Ingenthron, president, World Reuse, Repair & Recycling Assn., Middlebury, Vt.

Conference sponsors include the Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers, the Steel Recycling institute, the American Forest & Paper Association and Casella Waste Systems Inc.
