Plantation, Florida-based Infinitus Energy, the owner of an advanced mixed materials recovery facility (AMMRF) in Montgomery, Alabama, called Infinitus Renewable Energy Park (IREP) Montgomery, has issued a statement regarding its negotiations with the city of Montgomery to reopen the facility, which closed in early October.
“Our team had a productive meeting with Mayor (Todd) Strange and city staff to discuss strategies for resuming operations at our advanced mixed materials recovery facility in Montgomery, Alabama,” the statement reads. “We discussed options for making the AMMRF financially sustainable currently and create a mutually beneficial resolution for all parties in the future.”
The statement continues, “These strategies are conceptual at this point, and we want to understand the city’s perspective on the potential options so that our continued research and analysis can be structured and focused on our shared goal of resuming operations in today’s challenging environment and providing long-term financial and environmental sustainability.”
According to the statement, the parties have agreed to reconvene within the next 30 days to finalize discussions.
