NASCO-OP declares 2016 dividend

Cooperative members receive a 0.6 percent patronage dividend.

National Association Supply Cooperative (NASCO-OP), New Philadelphia, Ohio, has declared a 0.6 percent patronage dividend for 2016, according to its Manager Bob Bedard. The dividend, calculated on the purchases members or associates made at the cooperative, further reduces the purchase price of supplies and equipment, NASCO-OP says.

NASCO-OP is the recycling industry’s purchasing cooperative and is available at no additional cost to members of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), the Canadian Association of Recycling Industries (CARI), the Automotive Recycling Association (ARA) and the National Demolition Association (NDA).

“In today’s increasingly competitive marketplace, the need for NASCO-OP is greater now than ever before,” Bedard says.  “Cooperatives give members and users of all sizes the purchasing clout of an entire industry while still maintaining their independence. The success of the organization is power through cooperation. Just consider the negotiating leverage when members pool their purchases of one item, say conveyor belts, through NASCO-OP. With the united needs of that size of a group, NASCO-OP members are in the position to accept only the best value from belt manufacturers,” he adds.
