The National Association of Paper Stock Woman met Monday March 26 for its luncheon in conjunction with the American Forest & Paper Association’s 130th annual Paper Week. The luncheon event featured award presentations as well as a keynote address by Bill Moore of Moore & Associates,
Awards were presented in three categories: Volunteer Women on the Rise, Volunteer of the Year and Corporate Sponsor of the Year. The award recipients were:

Bev was promoted to head up a new division. In her new role as South Central Zone Procurement Manager, her responsibilities will include bringing together the plant and brokerage purchasing activities of Weyerhaeuser under a single umbrella.

Independent Recycling Services
George has been instrumental in developing and managing the NAPW Web site, a major contribution to the association as it had previously paid to have service preformed, according to a news release from the NAPW.
Corporate Sponsor of the Year:

Its single contribution of $1,500 to the NAPW Canadian Scholarship Fund will allow the association to increase its scholarship to a pulp and paper science student at
The presentation by Bill Moore, titled “What’s Happening in the Global Recovered Paper Market,” provided a detailed review of key market trends. The presentation looked at global recovered paper consumption trends and provided forecasts for the future. It also provided attendees with key insights for the major grades of recovered paper, including key importing countries, historical pricing and consumption trends and forecasts.
The National Association of Paper Stock Woman, originally founded as a professional group for women in the paper recycling field, today boasts both female and male members from throughout the nation. Its members come from both the paper mill and paper recovery industry segments.
