The National Association for PET Container Resources has added two new polyethylene terephthalate thermoformer members: Pactiv Corp., Lake Forest, Ill., and Placon Thermoformed Products, Madison, Wis.
The new members join the current NAPCOR member roster comprised of PET bottle and resin manufacturers, and suppliers to the PET packaging industry. The membership expansion was facilitated by recent changes to NAPCOR’s governing Bylaws.
"We recognize that PET is being used in a growing number of packaging end uses outside of bottles," said Dennis Sabourin, NAPCOR executive director. "Thermoformed packages are a growing segment of the industry and we felt it was in the best interests of NAPCOR and the PET packaging industry to formally recognize this in the make-up of our membership."
Two other PET bottle industry supplier members recently became NAPCOR members: Vertx Corp., Weston, Fla.; and Meckler Associates, Menands, NY.
