Information disposition textbook available on Amazon

Public sale allows more industry professionals to access the textbook.

The secure data destruction industry guide and Certified Secure Destruction Specialist (CSDS) textbook, Information Disposition: A Practical Guide to the Secure, Compliant Disposal of Records, Media and IT Assets, is available for purchase publicly through Amazon, according to a press release published by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), Phoenix.

Originally published two years ago by NAID and written by the association’s CEO and industry veteran Robert J. Johnson, the book previously was only available for purchase directly through the association.

“Due to the nature of the content, we wanted to ensure that as many industry professionals, from service providers to regulatory compliance officers and even those studying to enter the IT disposition field could easily get their hands on the publication,” says i-SIGMA Director of Marketing & Communications Kelly Martínez. NAID is a division of i-SIGMA.

Information Disposition is the first comprehensive digest covering a wide range of issues related to protecting information at its most vulnerable point–the end of its life cycle. Johnson says the book “even includes policies and templates to create a state-of-the-art, compliant and secure information destruction program.”

Additional topics covered include how to pick a service provider, what regulations require, best practices for risk management and what to include in a request for proposals or contract.

This 272-page textbook is also the official guide for the CSDS Accreditation Program.
