The New Jersey Paper Recycling Association (NJPRA) has recognized Myles Cohen, executive vice president of marketing at Pratt Industries, Atlanta, and former president of Pratt Recycling as the winner of its Lifetime Achievement Award.
According to a news release from the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries’ (ISRI’s) Paper Stock Industries (PSI) Chapter, Cohen received the award at a ceremony Dec. 6, 2019, in Carlstadt, New Jersey. The NJPRA board of directors awarded Cohen for his significant support, dedication and passion for the recycling industry throughout his career.
During the award ceremony, Bill Lehman of Waste Management reviewed Cohen’s list of career contributions and accomplishments, especially noting his leadership as president of Pratt Recycling and his volunteer leadership roles in PSI Chapter, chair of ISRI’s Paper Division, co-chair of ISRI’s MRF Council and member of ISRI’s board of directors and numerous committees, including its executive committee.

According to PSI, the award ceremony, held in conjunction with NJPRA’s annual holiday party, attracted about 60 attendees, including PSI past president and founding NJPRA member George Chen of G&T Trading International Corp. and a group of Pratt colleagues, including Shawn State, president of Pratt Recycling, and Michael Altobelli, northeast vice president of Pratt Recycling.
Upon accepting the award, Cohen thanked NJPRA, attendees at the meeting, and the suppliers and customers who have supported Pratt and its paper mills through strong and weak markets for recovered paper, PSI reports. He also cited the support from his family, including his wife of 38 years, Debbie; his son, Gabriel; and his daughter, Kandice.
