Harsco Corp. announced that its MultiServ mill services division has been awarded a new five-year contract valued in excess of $10 million over its term for a range of on-site mill services at the Sidenor Group's Reinosa steel works in northern Spain.
The contract, MultiServ's first at this facility, strengthens MultiServ's worldwide relationship with the Spain-based Sidenor Group, one of Europe's leading specialty steel forging and casting companies. With the addition of the Reinosa works, MultiServ now supports all of the Sidenor Group's steel-producing facilities throughout Spain and Brazil.
MultiServ will take over on-site responsibility for slag pot carrying services, metal recovery, and various logistic services that include the internal transport of scrap and semi-finished products in support of the mill's production operations.
The Reinosa mill produces specialty steels and products for the automotive industry. The contract is expected to generate positive Economic Value Added benefit for Harsco from its first year of operation. Work under the contract is now underway.
