Montana Town Adds Glass Recycling for Aggregate Use

Missoula, Mont., has introduced a drop-off program for glass recycling through hauler BFI Montana, according to a report in the Missoula Independent (Missoula, Mont.).

According to the report, BFI will collect glass for Missoula-based Big Sky Rock Works, where it will be crushed and used as aggregate in concrete products.

“The glass will be used as a substitute for gravel,” Gary Linton, co-owner of Big Sky Rock Works tells the Independent. “Instead of depleting our natural resources, we’re going to recycle it.”
