Moley introduces alligator shears

Company says the new shears break down oversized materials for shredding.

alligator shear metals equipmentMoley Magnetics Inc., based in Buffalo, New York, has introduced what it describes as a mobile, adjustable and powerful alligator shear that allows metal recyclers to cut items down to size for further processing by an auto shredder.

Additionally, Moley notes that the new alligator shear permits recyclers to prepare scrap for shredding by removing unwanted fittings or other parts the shredder may not accept, adding value to the scrap and improving the quality of the finished frag.

Moley’s alligator shears have an adjustable blade distance as well as an adjustable set screw to support the blade. A constant power piston pump on the shears enhances all work stages and minimizes the power of the electric motor, the company says.

The shear’s electric motor and pump are found outside the tank, which allows for the availability of more oil while the oil heating is reduced, which makes for easier maintenance, Moley says.

The Moley alligator shears also have cylinders with brake and chrome-plated and tempered rods. In addition, the gaskets used have been devised specifically for high speeds and pressures.
