The International Molded Fiber Association (IMFA) has announced that Ann O’Hara of packaging and fiber products company Huhtamaki Oyj will serve as the keynote speaker at its 2025 annual conference. The event is April 30 to May 2 in Miami.
O’Hara serves as president, North America for Huhtamaki. Globally, Huhtamaki is based in Finland while its North American headquarters is in De Soto, Kansas.
O’Hara leads Huhtamaki’s North America segment, a $1.6 billion fiber, paper and plastics packaging business that serves the retail, food service and consumer goods markets from 17 sites with roughly 4,000 employees.
Of interest to producers of molded pulp and materials, including recovered paper, used in molded pulp’s production, IMFA says O'Hara "champions" Huhtamaki’s global sourcing and operations initiatives.
Her presentation will explore how packaging industry trends have changed, with molded fiber’s position of importance shifting as other materials evolve.
“Ann will share her views on all packaging [materials] given her experiences across companies, products geographies and roles," the association says. "She will summarize how the actions of consumers, customers, regulators and trade organizations have impacted the rise and fall of various [materials]. She will then outline the molded fiber community priorities in terms of positioning molded fiber for the future.”
