Mittal Steel Co. has announced that it is performing research, and is in some preliminary discussions with the Jharkhand government of India on the possibility of building a steel mill as well as an iron ore mine in the Indian state.
The company said that no decision on whether or not to go ahead with the project has been made.
Mittal is the largest steel company in the world. It recently purchased the assets of International Steel Group.
