Midwest Scrap Management Purchases Harris Shredder

Harris HS125125 expected to be operational this fall.

Harris Shredders, a division of Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree Ga., has announced the sale of their Mega Shredder HS125125 to Midwest Scrap Management Inc. from St. Joseph, Mo.

Midwest Scrap is owned and operated by Kendrick Burgess, president and Kenneth Burgess, vice president.

While growing their facility, they purchased a 53-acre site in Kansas City, Mo. Harris’ HS125125 shredder is expected to be operation at this former GST Steel Mill site in the fall of 2005.

“Midwest Scrap began 30 years ago with a desire for dedication to the environment and to the people,” says Kendrick Burgess. “We service areas in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska. With this in mind, we are very comfortable with Harris’ ability to manage and support this project, and we have confidence in Harris’ quality and service.”

A new addition to the Harris line, the HS125125 shredder has interlocking housing fabrication for strength, an oversized reject door opening outwards to expel unshreddables, and a heavy-duty Dual Feed Roll feed system with torque tube and quick release rollers.

“This project represents Harris’ commitment to becoming the shredder supplier for the recycling industry,” says Doug Sebastian, vice president of Harris.

Harris Waste Management designs, manufactures and sells scrap processing, recycling and waste handling and size reduction equipment.
