Mid America Recycling Co., headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, acquired Waste Management Fort Worth, Tex., Recycle America paper recycling plant. According to the company the operations will be relocated to Mid America’s Vista Fibers’ Forth Worth operations.
"The Waste Management Recycle America facility allows us to consolidate recycling operations and realize synergies within transportation and account service in the Dallas-Fort Worth market," said Brian Meng, president of MAR.
This marks the second Fort Worth acquisition by MAR this year and the fourth purchase in the DFW area since last spring. Mid America, with more than a dozen recycling facilities, primarily in the Midwest and Southwest, processes around 650,000 tons of recyclables a year.
