Michigan Shredding Company Expands

Company sees good growth prospects with new office.

Secure Eco Shred has expanded its services with the opening of an office in Chicago. Secure Eco Shred is headquartered in Farmington, Mich. The company has space set up, and is expected to have a mobile shredding truck delivered by the first of next month.

The expansion will allow Secure Eco Shred to offer its secure disposal throughout Illinois.

“We’re excited about establishing an office in a major metropolis such as Chicago, said Steve Kalapos, president of Secure Eco Shred. “Secure shredding is a critical component of records management for businesses today. Identity theft is a big problem, and companies can be held liable if confidential information gets out. Our industrial shredders render materials into tiny, unrecognizable pieces and are then bundled and recycled to help preserve the environment.

Secure Eco Shred recycles more than 500,000 pounds of paper per month. The company, which has been in business for about four years, operates four Shred Tech mobile shredding trucks, as well as a shredder and baler at its Detroit-area plant.

Since its start the company has seen a sharp increase, with sales climbing by close to 70 percent last year.

According to Kalapos, the company hopes to open an additional office in the Grand Rapids, Mich., area by the end of the year. At the present time the company is reaching throughout the state of Michigan.
