Metso Texas Shredder Places Shear with Trademark Metals

Company purchases 1,200-ton Lindemann shear.

Trademark Metals Recycling LLC (TMR), Tampa, Fla., has purchased a 1,200-ton Lindemann EC (ETA-cut) shear from Metso Texas Shredder Inc. (MTSI), based in San Antonio, Texas.

TMR is a subsidiary of the David J. Joseph Co., a world leader in scrap processing and trading with headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a leading metal recycler in the Southeaster United States. The company operates 14 locations, including four auto shredders in Florida. TMR’s largest installation is a Texas Shredder 7,000-hp mega shredder at the Port of Tampa. The new shear will be installed in Tampa at TMR’s Sutton location.

“The Lindemann EC shear’s optimized drive and control system makes the new generation shear an extremely high production machine while consuming significantly less energy for scrap operations,” according to a press release from MTSI. The unit includes a Wear Con plate monitoring system the helps to prevent emergency downtime, the company says.
