Metso Texas Shredder Lands Order for Shredder Plant

Plant should be installed by early next year.

Baja Recycling, a subsidiary of AMEX Metals, LLC has purchased a comprehensive 98/104 Shredder Plant from Metso Texas Shredder, Inc. headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.

The shredding facility, designed for optimum efficiency, will feature a complete ferrous and non ferrous downstream, and will be installed in Baja Recycling’s Tijuana, Baja California operation.

The heart of the plant, a model 98/104 MTSI shredder, will feature a 4000 HP Alstom drive motor, a complete in-feed and feeding system, a "no weld" disc rotor from Bowe Machine, Bettendorf, Iowa, and will have the capability of processing 200 input tons per hour. The downstream will feature separation technology from Steinert US.
