The United States Supreme Court has denied Finland-based Metso the right to appeal a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in a patent infringement lawsuit between Metso and Terex Corp. that rejected Metso's claims for damages against Terex. As a result, this ruling remains final, according to a press release issued by Metso.
The dispute between Metso and Powerscreen International Ltd. (today known as Terex GB Ltd.) covered Metso's claims for damages related to a patent covering conveyers used in various mobile crushing and screening machinery, the company says. Metso says it issued stock exchange releases on the case on Dec. 7, 2010, Dec. 12, 2011, and May 15, 2013.
Metso says the outcome is not expected to have any significant financial impact on the company.
