The Finnish equipment company Metso has announced that it will supply the Turkish company Kipas Kagit Sanayi Isletmeleri A.S with a containerboard machine for its new mill in Kahramanmaras, Turkey. Startup of the new machine is scheduled for 2013.
Metso says it will supply a complete high-technology board machine. “The new machine will utilize gap-forming technology, which enables a higher production speed and production efficiency ratio for board machines,” says Metso Area President Hannu T Pietilä. In addition, Metso’s extensive automation package will include process, machine and quality controls.
The paper mill will produce fluting and testliner grades made from 100 percent recycled fiber. Metso reports that, when fully operational, the mill will have an annual production capacity of 400,000 metric tons.
Kipas Kagit Sanayi Isletmeleri A.S is a subsidiary of the Turkish company Kipas Holding A.S.
