Metso Corp. has announced that it will be supplying a lightweight containerboard production line to Saica Containerboard UK Ltd. in Trafford, United Kingdom. The production line is scheduled to start the first quarter of 2012. Total value of the order is about EUR 60 million (US$87.1 million).
Metso's delivery will include a complete paper machine, including an approach flow system, pulpers and air systems according to the company. The automation package will comprise process, machine and quality controls. When fully operational, annual production of the machine will be about 400,000 metric tons of testliner and fluting, Metso says. Raw material used will be 100 percent recovered fiber, the company adds.
