Metso, San Antonio, has introduced the EtaBriq briquetting press to the North American market. This high-performance machine is designed to process large quantities of chips, enabling the production of high-quality briquettes for cost-optimized disposal and sale to end users, the company says.
The Metso EtaBriq briquetting press can process cast iron, steel, aluminum, copper and brass chips and turnings. The unit can be used in combination with the Metso EtaCrush turnings crusher. According to a news release from Metso, “These state-of-the-art machines are robust and maintenance friendly and reduce handling issues by significantly increasing bulk density. This reduces transport costs and improves furnace charging for remelt, thereby increasing efficiency, marketability and revenue.”
The dual compression concept of the Metso EtaBriq™ is designed to produce briquettes with a more uniform density than those produced with units that use single compression. A variety of tool sizes are available.
