Metech International has renewed its ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 certification at both of its Rhode Island and California facilities following a mandatory recertification audit. Metech, headquartered in Mapelville, RI, is a ecycler of electronic industrial manufacturing scrap, obsolete inventory, and end-of-life electronics. The company also operates a second facility in Gilroy, Calif.
"ISO certification confirms our commitment to responsible handling of unwanted electronic components," said John Koskinas, president of Metech. "We have always held ourselves to high standards of quality control and environmental responsibility, but ISO certification gives us a formal, globally recognized framework to tie everything together and plot continuous improvement. Our employees have embraced the ISO processes, and it is a credit to all of them that after three years this recertification audit found only a few minor areas in need of modification."
