Metech Renews IAER Certification

Electronics recycler renews International Association of Electronics Recyclers certification.

Metech International, an electronics recycling and asset management services provider based in Worcester, Mass., has renewed its International Association of Electronics Recyclers (IAER) certification for its facilities in Worcester and in Gilroy, Calif.

"Continued IAER certification confirms our commitment to the responsible handling of electronic materials," Sam Advani, president of Metech, says. "The IAER Certified Electronics Recycler program complements Metech's existing ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications by adding additional elements including industry specific business practices, finance, security and employee training, health and safety. These certifications provide us with a globally recognized platform upon which to continuously improve our business practices,” he adds. “We have always held ourselves to the highest standard of quality control and environmental responsibility."

Metech also recently renewed its ISO 9001 quality management system and ISO 14001 environmental management system certifications at its Worcester, Gilroy and Penang, Malaysia, plants. In order to maintain ISO certification, the company must pass an audit every three years by an independent certification company.
