A new agreement between Metech International, based in Worcester, Mass., Glezo Corp. and Dan Mar Components expands Metech's Accountable Resource Management® (ARM®) services into Mexico.
The strategic partnership combines Metech's Certified ARM® electronics recycling processes and precious metal handling with the plastics and base metal recycling capabilities of Glezco Corp. in its new facility in Monterrey, Mexico, and with Dan-Mar Components Inc., a distributor of electronic components in Deer Park, N.Y.
"Many of our customers have facilities in Mexico, and this partnership lets us provide them with a local, one-stop recycling solution using the same accountable processes that Metech is known for in North America," Jim Gardner, business development manager at Metech, says in a press release. "At the same time, it establishes a single location where global manufacturers can send their e-scrap for complete, documented disposal."
Glezco operates four recycling facilities throughout Mexico, providing recycling and disposition of electronic manufacturing scrap. Glezco also helps customers comply with Mexico's PITEX import/export requirements. According to Metech, implementing its ARM program throughout Glezco's operations will provide a proven system for documenting the handling of precious metals and sensitive information.
Dan-Mar serves OEMs by managing distribution and/or disposal of excess, obsolete and overstocked components and capital equipment. As part of this strategic partnership, Dan-Mar will work with Glezco and Metech to resell components recovered from processed e-scrap, which will maximize their customers' return on their assets.
"Our goal is to support global customers with global services," Gardner said. "Accountable Resource Management® sets the highest standard for corporate integrity and responsible materials handling. This agreement leverages the core competencies of all three companies to the benefit of every one of our customers."
Metech International specializes in the recycling and reuse of industrial manufacturing scrap, obsolete inventory, end-of-life electronics and non-conforming materials, serving customers in the automotive, electrical and electronic, jewelry and metal processing industries and offering consumer computer and cell phone recycling programs. Its Worcester, Mass., and Gilroy, Calif., facilities are ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 certified.
