MetalX LLC, Waterloo, Indiana, has announced that auto and aluminum industry veteran Kevin Moore has joined the company, effective immediately. As a senior marketing executive, Moore will be focused on managing aluminum trading activities for scrap and refined products, hedging and risk management, scrap agency and industrial management programs and corporate strategic planning.
Moore also will continue to provide a full range of consulting services to companies in the metals and mining sector, as his All Raw Material Consulting business will also become a part of the MetalX portfolio of services, according to the firm.
Moore’s background includes having spent 30 years at General Motors (GM). His career was originally focused on aluminum casting operations and procurement and at GM culminated in the roles of global commodity manager for aluminum and senior technical fellow for materials.
In those positions he was responsible for global aluminum scrap and procurement, hedging and risk management for all commodities and development of a rare earth elements supply strategy. After leaving GM, he founded a private consulting firm that offers a range of consulting services to a variety of companies in the metals sector. All Raw Materials Consulting was formed in 2012, and Moore has been the managing director since it was founded.
“We are excited for Kevin to join the MetalX family, as his extensive knowledge, impeccable credentials and outstanding personal reputation will be integral to the advancement of our strategic aluminum initiatives,” says MetalX CEO Danny Rifkin. “In addition, Kevin’s business philosophy and his personal values are compatible with ours, so we expect him to hit the ground running.”
Says Moore, “I’m happy to be part of an exciting and energetic organization that looks at this industry in such a progressive manner. MetalX and the Rifkin family have an outstanding reputation and a demonstrated ability to make things happen. Plus, the focus on relationships, integrity, and fundamentals is consistent with my approach to this business. I believe that my experience and perspective will be a valuable addition to the company’s growth strategy as we offer an expanded range of services and support to our clients. I’m truly looking forward to what’s ahead.”
MetalX is a scrap metal recycling business founded in 2012 by Danny and Neal Rifkin, third- and fourth-generation members of a family with a long history in the scrap industry. The company employs more than 150 people at facilities in Waterloo, Auburn, Kendallville and Fort Wayne, Indiana.
