MetalTech, Hartner Introduce New Single-Stream Recycling System

SORT-10 has a throughput of 8 to 10 tons per hour.

MetalTech Systems, Pawleys Island, S.C., and Hartner Engineering, Baechingen, Germany, have introduced a new compact design 10-ton-per-hour single stream recycling system to the U.S. market. MetalTech Systems will market, design, manufacture and provide technical support in the United States for the SORT-10 Single Stream Recycling System.

Hartner Engineering supplies recycling solutions for the European and Asian markets. MetalTech Systems markets, manufactures, designs and installs recycling systems and equipment throughout North America. The system will be manufactured in South Carolina to U.S. standards using locally available components and materials.

The SORT-10 Single Stream Recycling System is designed to have throughput of 8-10 tons per hour. The system footprint with baler and in feed system is 5,000 to 6,000 square feet, depending on the model configuration. The size of the system allows for it to be effectively operated in a smaller area compared to more traditional systems.

The benefits of the SORT-10 Single Stream Recycling System are lower maintenance and operational costs with the integration of the Ballistic Separator technology. The system also offers fewer maintenance and cleaning issues compared to traditional rotary-type equipment. The higher productivity is a result of better mechanical sorting and presentation. The Ballistic Separator technology provides enhanced paper and container separation and the removal of glass and fines.

Options available for the SORT-10 Single Stream Recycling System are optical sorting, storage and metering systems, bag opening system, and additional product transfer conveyors.
