Metal Management, Inc. announced that its Metal Management Aerospace, Inc. operation in Hartford, Ct., has received certification to ISO 9001:2000/AS9100:01.
The audit was conducted in accordance with the requirements of SAE AIR5359, latest revision. The new standard is a worldwide requirement that must be met by December 14, 2003.
Michael Tryon, Metal Management's president and COO, noted, "The certification will continue to enhance our leadership position, help us better service our global aerospace customers and assist us in reaching out to new aerospace and high tech companies, as well as to the high temperature alloy melters."
The Hartford facility covers nearly 36 acres and includes 200,000 feet of manufacturing space. The company processes nickel, cobalt, titanium and other high tech alloys and is one of the largest processors of aerospace turnings in the world.
