
The board of directors of Mervis Industries, Danville, Ill., has named Jim Picillo vice president and chief operating officer.
In the newly created position, Picillo will oversee operations for all the company’s divisions in three states and 18 locations. His responsibilities include ensuring that business operations are efficient and effective and that business resources are managed properly.
Picillo joined Mervis Industries in 2000, serving as the company’s director of operations.
“Jim’s selection as Mervis Industries’ first chief operating officer is an acknowledgement of his outstanding work,” says Adam Mervis, CEO of Mervis Industries. “Since Jim joined the company over 10 years ago, he has consistently proven himself as an innovative thinker and a valuable leader.”
Prior to joining Mervis, Picillo was general manager of operations at Simsmetal America, where he directed operations of 10 facilities in the company’s Western and Southern divisions. He also worked for Recycling industries Inc. and The David J. Joseph Co.
