MCR to Tackle Milwaukee’s Great Lakes 2008 Earth Day Challenge

Company to provide electronics recycling services.

Midwest Computer Recyclers (MCR), Milwaukee’s largest electronics recycler, has been awarded the recycling contract for Milwaukee’s 2008 Great Lakes 2008 Earth Day Challenge to be held at the Italian Community Center South Parking Lot April 26, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free to all city of Milwaukee residence who show proof of address.

 

Milwaukee residents can bring old, outdated or non-functioning computers, computer accessories and TVs to this event. MCR will process and recycle the electronics.

 

MCR is paying 50 percent of the cost to recycle the equipment collected as a corporate contribution. In addition, Midwest Computer Recyclers has agreed to destroy personal information left on hard drives. The collected electronics will be transported to Midwest Computer Recyclers’ facility, where TVs, computers and peripherals will be evaluated for resale value or designated for recycling.
