The McNeilus Volterra electric refuse and recycling vehicle from McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing Inc. was recognized as a CES 2026 Innovation Awards honoree in the Construction and Industrial Tech category.

Presented by the Consumer Technology Association, the CES Innovation Awards program recognizes excellence in the design and engineering of technology products.

“The McNeilus Volterra electric vehicles represent more than just an advancement in technology; it reflects our commitment to shaping the future of refuse and recycling collection,” says Lee Dreas, president of McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, an Oshkosh Corp. business headquartered in Dodge Center, Minnesota. “From purpose-built solutions and automation to intelligent connectivity, every innovation we deliver is focused on making our customers’ operations safe, efficient and sustainable.”

Manufactured at McNeilus’ facility in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the fully integrated Volterra electric refuse and recycling vehicles are equipped with an electrified drivetrain, smart battery system and regenerative braking.

McNeilus says the CES recognition builds upon its growth and expansion efforts in 2025. The company recently completed a modernization of its headquarters, introducing Industry 4.0 digital systems, high-flow production lines, robotic paint systems and end-to-end traceability through a new manufacturing execution system.

In addition, McNeilus’ team in Murfreesboro earned statewide recognition when the company’s Volterra ZSL was named the “Coolest Thing Made in Tennessee.”
