The plastics recycling company McDunnough Inc., based in Fenton, Mich., has purchased the processing equipment of a closed recycling company. The equipment will help McDunnough grow and advance its business in the plastics recycling industry. The new equipment also will increase McDunnough’s processing by adding additional shredding, grinding, baling and material handling capacity.
Darren McDunnough, owner of McDunnough, says, “This acquisition of additional equipment came at an ideal time. Since purchasing a larger facility from Lear (an auto parts manufacturer) nearly a year ago and doubling our space, this purchase fits extraordinarily well into our growth and expansion plans. Additional capacity certainly increases the opportunity for more business, which in turn leads to additional hiring in all areas of the company.”
“In general, by adding more equipment we will expand our sourcing base and fulfill our obligations. In addition to the purchase of a larger facility as well as other production and processing equipment last year, McDunnough also hired additional personnel and intends to add new hires in sales, production and operations to meet anticipated growth.
McDunnough handles a wide range of post-industrial grades of plastics. The company’s primary product is regrind material. The company also performs custom blending and compounding of materials.
The company expects the purchased equipment to be installed by the end of July 2011.
