MBA Polymers Appoints Business Development Director

The plastics recycling company MBA Polymers, based in Richmond, Calif., has named Roger Crook to the post of business development director.

Crook has general management experience and a track record in marketing and market research, according to MBA. He is currently based in Beijing, having lived in Asia for the past 20 years. Until recently, he was general manager of a company that manufactures injectible pharmaceuticals, where he helped transition the business from Sino-British to Italian private ownership and also achieved significant margin growth against a background of rising costs.

He also served as general manager of BOC Edwards-Tianli, Beijing, where he established a Sino-British joint venture and oversaw its transition to a global business that operated within The BOC Group.

Crook says, "My task will be to help the business grow and improve margins. MBA Polymers is a world-leading business, widely recognized for its superb contribution to sustainability, and I’m absolutely delighted to be joining at this important time.”

Nigel Hunton, MBA Polymers’ chief executive, says, “We’re delighted that Roger is joining us. He has wide experience of growing businesses in challenging environments and his Asian experience will be particularly beneficial.”

MBA has three major production facilities in the U.K., Austria and China. The U.K. facility is the largest and focuses on recovering plastics and rubber from shredder residue, the company says.
