MBA Polymers has announced the March 22 grand opening of its third plant, which recovers plastics from highly mixed sources, such as shredder residue from the recycling of obsolete durable goods.
According to an announcement from MBA, the plant’s incoming material is comprised of electronics, appliances, automobiles and business equipment, with much of the company’s products going back into these applications. MBA Polymers and its joint venture partner Muller-Guttenbrunn GmbH own the plant, which is located in Kematen an der Ybbs, MBA is based in The Austrian plant is capable of processing 40,000 metric tons, or 44,800 tons, of material per year. The site covers 215,000 square feet, and the processing plant measures 86,000 square feet.
