Mayer Information Technology had record sales of Materials Manager and Scale Manager in 2002. These software products are designed for the recycling industry and 7 new accounts were sold in the 2nd half of 2002.
Blaze Recycling & Metals of Atlanta, GA is a processor of ferrous and non-ferrous material. Blaze chose Mayer as their systems addressed the needs of a growing recycling business. Blaze will also be using Mayer’s newly developed dispatch system for it’s industrial account business.
Palm Beach Metals, a nonferrous recycler located in West Palm Beach, FL is a retail nonferrous processor. Palm Beach required a fast, easy to use system that could accommodate a significant walk-in business. Palm Beach required a flexible product in order to manage the details as well as the overall management needs of its diverse business.
Poscor Mill Service of Hamilton Ontario is a full service recycler of ferrous material providing raw materials to a number of large steel producers. Strickland Trading of Shoal Creek, Alabama, chose Materials Manager for their scrap brokerage business. Previously, Strickland was using a combination of manual systems, spreadsheets, and a general accounting to manage their business.
Strickland's business has been growing, and in order to accommodate the increased business and the necessity to have accurate brokerage positions, they decided to find a better solution.

Owl’s Head Alloys is a secondary aluminum smelter located in Bowling Green KY. They are currently using Mayer’s Material Manager and Scale Manager systems to track raw material purchases, inventory and production. Mayer’s new product, S2, which is designed for steel mills, is being enhanced to track chemistries from the supplier all the way through the production of ingot or sow. Heat and production planning, tracking and reporting features are also being integrated into S2 to address the needs of the secondary aluminum industry.
Zimmer S. A. de C. V. is a metals processor and trading company located in Monterrey, Mexico, with a trading office in Mexico City. Zimmer chose Mayer because of its flexibility as well as its multi-language and multi-currency capabilities. Mayer also developed a custom interface to Zimmer’s accounting software as well as addressing all the tax requirements of Mexico.
