For the past four years, Roman had represented United Recycling Industries Inc., West Chicago, Ill, as its vice president of marketing. Previously, she served as a consultant to numerous electronics recycling start-ups to help them develop business plants and marketing strategies.
“I became aware of issues surrounding e-scrap disposal in 1992, and developing and delivering economical and environmentally sound solutions has been my passion ever since,” says Roman. “When I learned what MaSeR had up its sleeve for the e-recycling industry, I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it”, she adds.
MaSeR’s Barrie, Ontario, operation is designed to offer recovery of plastics and aluminum from composites that traditionally go directly to smelters for final disposition. MaSeR also recovers composite materials from automotive, packaging and other industries.
