Maryland Recyclers Holding Annual Conference

Maryland Recyclers' Coalition will hold its annual conference this month.

The Maryland Recyclers’ Coalition will hold it’s 14th annual conference, training, and exposition May 30-31 at the Community College of Baltimore County, Catonsville campus.  The theme of this year’s conference is "Recycling: Mastering the Basics."

This year’s conference keynote speaker will be Ralph Simon, vice president of SP Recycling, Atlanta.  While there will be much information and networking opportunities for advanced recyclers, there will be strong programs for encouraging ground floor information such as paper grading, electronics recycling, glass recycling, non-traditional materials and waste prevention.

An entertaining "History of Recycling" will be presented by Chaz Miller from the Environmental Industry Association.  Federal and private success stories will be shared by Clif Dowling from the Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority and Cheryl Silver of SCS Engineers.

Also via a separate registration, the Maryland Environmental Service’s "Buy Recycled" training program will be conducted by Richard Keller.

Recycling at colleges will be a featured session and a half dozen tours will be offered.  Also our annual round table on the Future of Recycling will complete the conference featuring four recycling leaders including the National Recycling Coalition’s Executive Director, Kate Krebs.

More information on the program may be obtained by contacting Fred Stringfellow at recycle@ksgroup.org. A full list of this year’s conference may be viewed by going to the MRC’s web site at www.marylandrecyclers.org.
