Georgia Firm Installs Wire Recycling Equipment

Eldan Recycling A/S has commissioned a model E2500C cable recycling plant at Marietta Recycling’s scrap metal facility in Marietta, Ga.

The Denmark-based manufacturer of equipment for the recycling industry says the new plant can produce either copper or aluminum particles with up to 99.9 percent purity from a variety of mixed wire and cable in-feed sources.

The company also says the cable recycling process in Marietta begins with Eldan’s Super Chopper SC2118. The shredded material is then transported to Eldan’s Rasper MPR160 granulator where it is further processed. The plant can produce up to 3 tons per hour of copper and up to 1.5 tons per production hour of aluminum.

A news release from Eldan adds that with the installation of the cable recycling plant Marietta Recycling is extending its processing capabilities to include obsolete electronics. The company will be commissioning an Eldan S1000 ring shredder later in 2013.

Eldan Recycling, founded in 1956, manufactures machinery and systems to recycle tires, wire and cable and obsolete electronics.
