The Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) honored Marc Schupan, CEO of Kalamazoo, Michigan-based Schupan & Sons Inc., with its Lifetime Achievement Award during a virtual ceremony Thursday, June 25. The award recognizes his achievements and contributions to the metals industry during his 46-year career leading Schupan & Sons, a metals and plastics company with a global footprint.
MSCI, Rolling Meadows, Illinois, supports service centers and producers in the metals materials industry. The group’s members incorporate the science, engineering, art and business skills necessary to process and distribute raw materials and finished metal forms. MSCI supports its members through education and leadership development programs, data, conferences and safety initiatives.
“This award is only possible because of the dedicated and talented team I’ve been fortunate to work with at Schupan,” Schupan said after receiving the Lifetime Achievement honor. “MSCI has provided a valuable opportunity to connect industry leaders, peers and friends toward a common goal of developing and growing the industrial metals supply chain as a whole. Joining past recipients of this award is truly a humbling experience and I am honored to be among them.”
MSCI’s Nominating and Governance Committee submits several industry leaders who have made significant and impactful contributions to the metals industry for consideration. The award recipients are selected based on their contributions.
Schupan was honored alongside fellow recipient, William M. Hickey Jr., of Lapham Hickey Steel, based in Illinois.
