The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences has launched two new Compliance Assistance Centers. These centers are geared to assist small- and medium-size businesses in the auto recycling and construction sectors.
The centers were built by NCMS to increase understanding of and compliance with environmental regulations.
NCMS coordinated the development of these sites with the Environmental Protection Agency, the Automotive Recycling Association, Associated General Contractors of America, National Association of Home Builders, American Road and Transportation Builders Association, the Golf Course Builders Association of America, and the Automotive Recyclers Association.
The Environmental Compliance Automotive Recyclers Center provides auto recycling businesses with easy access to state and federal environmental rules. A virtual tour provides easy-to-understand information on a variety of topics ranging from handling used antifreeze to wastewater disposal. Fact sheets include state requirements, best management practices, and links to other important Internet resources. It can be viewed by going to www.ecarcenter.org.
For the construction industry, the web site is www.cicacenter.org. The CICAcenter helps builders, contractors, and developers quickly understand applicable environmental regulations and locate resources to help them comply. Across environmental topics, users will discover clear and concise explanations of applicable regulations and links to state and local regulatory agencies.
