The Mansbach Metal Co. division of Progress Rail Services has purchased a Metso Lindemann automobile shredder for its Ashland, Ky., scrap recycling facility. The company purchased a 98/104 Metso Lindemann model powered by a 4,000 hp plant.
The new shredder will substantially increase capacity for the Ashland operation and will provide Mansbach with flexibility to process a variety of materials, according to the company.
Mansbach Metal’s parent company, Progress Rail Services, and its Metal Reclamation Group are considered the largest rail car dismantlers in the U.S. The company also provides a variety of scrap grades to consuming mills and foundries.
“These shredders set the standard for efficiency and ease of maintenance in the North American metal recycling industry,” says Bill Tigner, vice president and general manager, Metso Lindemann North America, regarding the company’s line of current shredders. Shredders sold to North American customers are manufactured in the U.S., according to Tigner.
