Joseph Baker, former partner of Manitoba Corp., Lancaster, N.Y., has passed away at age 88.
Baker, who was a partner in the company until he was 85, began with the company in 1955 and played a key role in the company’s growth.
In a statement, Manitoba says that “For those in the industry that knew Joe (and many do) he was kind, caring and relentless in his pursuit to make new friends and land the next deal. Joe will be greatly missed as a partner, mentor and friend.”
Manitoba processes all types of nonferrous scrap metals. The company operates chopping lines, shears, wire burning incinerators, briquettors, balers, a small arms ammunition popping oven, as well as considerable additional equipment to prepare and process metals.
In addition to its recycling plant in Lancaster, the company also operates a facility in St. Louis.
