Maine Plastics Inc., North Chicago, Ill., has been selected by the Society of the Plastics Industry as the “Official Recycler of NPE 2003,” the major plastics industry trade show taking place June 23-27 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
The processor and distributor of secondary resins will team up with environmental education training company Eco Educators, Columbus, Ohio, to collect scrap generated by exhibitors on the show floor of NPE 2003.
Maine Plastics and Eco Educators also teamed up at NPE 2000, collecting more than 350,000 pounds of plastics and recycling it at Maine Plastics’ 200,000 sq. ft. processing plant in North Chicago.
“We are hoping to involve 100 percent of the exhibitors who generate scrap and increase the percentage of materials collected and recycled at NPE 2003,” states Robert Render, president of Maine Plastics.
Information on the NPE recycling program will be available at the NPE 2003 Exhibitor Seminar at McCormick Place January 22 –23, 2003 or by contacting the NPE Recycling Office at recyclenpe@earthlink.net.
