According to multiple reports, the Italian steel and engineering company Danieli & C Officine Meccaniche Spa has completed the acquisition of U.K.-based LYNXS Shredder Ltd. and LYNXS Shredder Technology Ltd. The acquisition came through the Italian company’s U.K. subsidiary Danieli Davy Distington Ltd.
One report notes that LYNXS’ lines will be merged with Danieli Centro Recycling’s division. The report adds that Danieli has secured a number of turnkey projects for scrap shredding facilities throughout the world. The acquisition of LYNXS is expected to strengthen the Italian company’s involvement in the recycling business.
Tim Christian, former owner of LYNXS, will adopt a prominent long term role in the new group with all LYNXS operations and existing staff moving to the Danieli site in Sheffield, UK during early 2011.
