The Lubo sorting system is designed to segregate all types of recyclable materials, including ferrous, aluminum, plastics, glass and fiber. The sorting system consists of moving floors of storage bunkers, magnets, nonferrous separators, air separation systems, optical sorting systems, Starscreens and conveyors. The system is capable of sorting 50 tons per hour, the press release says.
With the new sorting system the facility will be able to handle 320,000 tons per year of municipal solid waste (MSW), 60,000 tons per year of light waste (segregated curbside and commercial & industrial) and 20,000 tons per year of green and skip waste
The sorting system for the autoclave recycling facility is specially developed for the Derwenthaugh project. The facility will be fully operational in 2009.
