Lubo USA, the North American distributor of TiTech optical sorting equipment and Lubo screening equipment, has placed seven new TiTech units with recyclers in the United States.
Recycle America Alliance (RAA) of Minneapolis has recently purchased two TiTech PolySort 2000 units. According to a release from Lubo USA, these units will sort mixed plastics from RAA’s container stream. RAA’s container stream is processed on a new Bollegraaf container line, which augments the Double-Line Bollegraaf single-stream system the company already has in place. RAA’s new Bollegraaf container line will also include a new Lubo Glass Breaker Screen.
Pacifica International, City of Industry, Calif., has purchased four TiTech ColourSort R 1400 units to sort PET by color and to remove non-PET items, such as PVC and all other plastics, aluminum, paper and trash.
Deffenbaugh Recycling, Kansas City, Kan., has purchased a PolySort 1000 to be installed in its Bollegraaf single-stream plant to automatically sort mixed plastics out of the company’s commingled container stream.
Lubo USA, Stamford, Conn., began importing TiTech VisionSort optical sorting equipment in the spring of 2004. With approximately 1,000 units installed in the MRF field, most of which in Europe, TiTech is the worldwide leader in optical sorting.
According to Lubo USA, TiTech’s innovative sorting technology makes it possible to fully automate separation of recyclable materials. A sensor installed over a conveyor belt analyzes the input stream, rapidly identifying materials, shapes, textures and colors as well as the object position.
