Louisiana DEQ Shuts Down C&D Landfill

Landfill near Shreveport, La., must stop accepting C&D debris by April 29.

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has ordered a landfill in northwest Shreveport, La., to shut down by late April, according to a report in the Shreveport Times (Shreveport, La.).

The DEQ denied the landfill operators a permit to accept construction and demolition debris and has given them 60 days to comply.

The site, owned by Harrelson Materials Management, is still open and permitted to operate on a limited scale until April 29, according to the report.
