LME Plastics Workshop Set for NYC

Free seminar offers information on hedging and pricing.

A one-day workshop on plastics pricing and hedging is being offered by the London Metal Exchange (LME) in New York City on July 10.

The program of free plastics hedging workshops is being held “to support the introduction of regional contracts and additional prompt dates for polypropylene (PP) and linear low density polyethylene (LL)” in late June, according to the LME.

The half-day workshop is designed to help plastics industry traders understand how hedging can help manage polymer price risk, according to the LME. “In addition, [the workshop] will explore the benefits of regional contracts and additional prompt dates and their implications on trading,” an LME news release states.

Potential attendees can include personnel in the purchasing, finance, risk management and sales departments of plastics and plastics products manufacturers.

The New York workshop, being held at the Radisson Lexington Hotel in mid-town Manhattan, is one of ten such workshops being hosted by the LME, but the only one in the United States.
