Lindemann Shears to be Built in Texas

Metso Texas Shredder will oversee production of Lindemann EC line in San Antonio.

Metso Texas Shredder Inc., based in San Antonio, has announced that it will begin making the Lindemann line of EC Shears in North America. The Lindemann EC (Eta-cut) line of shears are designed to serve the scrap recycling market.

The company has hired Navin Mangal as the Lindemann Shears and Balers product line project manager. Mangal will be the liaison between the new manufacturing program in the U.S. and the engineering resources located at Metso Lindemann headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Metso Texas Shredder, recently formed when Texas Shredder was merged into Metso Lindemann North America in the fall of 2005, has a significant presence in North America’s metals shredding equipment supply sector.

“Now, with the manufacture of the EC Scrap Shear product line here in San Antonio, we anticipate that we will bring our North American customers even greater efficiencies regarding initial capital investment and delivery,” says Bill Tigner, the company’s vice president of sales and marketing.

“We’re extremely excited by the strong interest our customers have demonstrated regarding this move,” adds Tigner. He also remarks, “The Lindemann line of shears and balers are completely supported in North America by our highly trained technical service personnel working out of our Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and San Antonio service centers. Wear and replacement parts have always been inventoried and available throughout the continent to assure product support for our installed customer base.”

Metso Texas Shredder is part of Finland’s Metso Minerals, a global supplier of process machinery and metal recycling equipment.
