Lindemann Metal Recycling, based in Germany, has appointed Gunard Polite as its general manager of sales for its North American operations.
Polite, originally from Chicago, earned a degree in broadcast journalism and spent his early years in media and marketing before transitioning to a career in sales with Penske Truck Leasing, where he honed his skills across transactional sales and long-term leasing agreements over 10 years. Most recently, he served as executive director of business development at XOS Trucks, a startup specializing in commercial electric vehicles.

“Joining Lindemann is a great opportunity to blend my passion for leadership with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences,” Polite says. “While I am new to the world of metal recycling, I am eager to learn, grow and add value to our clients by leveraging the expertise of our team and the innovative solutions Lindemann offers.”
In his new role, Polite is leading Lindemann's North American sales team, focusing on strengthening customer relationships and driving efficiency.
“We know where our customers are and what they need,” Polite says. “My mission is to ensure that Lindemann is top of mind by demonstrating our commitment to their success and delivering on our promises. My priorities for Q1 2025 are to visit with customers, provide the team with tools and support, update our messaging and reintroduce our product portfolio to the North American market.
“I’m excited to hit the ground running and build strong, lasting relationships with our customers across North America.”
Lindemann Global Sales Director Alexander Zinn says Polite’s energy, leadership and customer-focused mindset make him an ideal fit for his new role, adding that “his strategic vision and ability to inspire teams will be instrumental as we navigate a competitive market and continue to deliver exceptional value to our clients.”
