Nils Larsen, chairman of Liberty’s board of directors, says, “Scott possesses extensive industrial experience and a track record of success in renewable and alternative energy and environmental remediation."
He continues, "I also want to thank Bill for his substantial contributions as CEO. We emerged from a successful restructuring with a solid customer base, strong balance sheet and enhanced flexibility and liquidity.
"I am confident that Scott will successfully lead our company into the next phase as we look to deploy disciplined capital investments and focus on opportunistic growth," Larsen adds.
Prior to the post at Liberty, Whitney was CEO of Greenwood Fuels, a renewable energy company. Whitney also served in senior management and executive roles with Covanta Energy, including time as president of Covanta Holding Corp.’s European group.
